Obituary for M. Joan Kann M. Joan Kann, 89, a resident of Penn Hall, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2019 in the Chambersburg Hospital. She was born October 3, 1929 in Hanover, PA. Joan was preceded in death by her father, Donald Kann, her mother Genevieve Neff Gettel and her step-father, George Gettel.

She was a 1947 graduate of the former Shippensburg High School, a 1950 graduate of Temple University School of Nursing. Joan worked as a Registered Nurse for over 40 years at Temple Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, and retired in 1989. She was a member of the Memorial Lutheran Church, Shippensburg, the Temple Hospital Nurses Alumnae Association, Temple University 20 year Club, Temple University Acres of Diamond Circle, and the Menno Haven Auxiliary.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at 1 p.m. in the Remembrance Chapel at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Shippensburg. Officiating will be Chaplain Brenda Doyle. Burial will be privately held in the Spring Hill Cemetery.

There will be no viewing or visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Menno Haven Benevolent Fund, 2075 Philadelphia Ave. , Chambersburg, PA 17201 or the Salvation Army, 169 Lincoln Way West, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
