Obituary for DAVID W. C. PYKE SR. David W. C. Pyke, Sr, 66, of Syracuse, passed away Sunday at the VA Medical Center. He was born in Syracuse to the late Wesley and Charlotte (Christian) Pyke in 1952.

David was a US Navy Veteran, serving as a boiler technician from 1976 – 1980. Following his honorable discharge, he worked as a boiler operator at both the Hotel Syracuse and O’Brien and Gere. He was a drummer and musician, loved animals, such as exotic ones like parrots and tarantulas, but especially his dog, Peanut.

He also enjoyed gardening and “tinkering” around with cars. He was predeceased by his wife, Donna Cummings, brother, William R. Pyke and sister, Donna L. Stevens. Surviving are a son, David (Deborah) Pyke, Jr, of Dallas, TX, 2 daughters, Maddie (Wayne) Hamilton, of Parish and Jessica (Patrick) McLaughlin, of Liverpool, 5 grandsons, David Pyke, of Dallas, TX, Brian and Luke Hamilton, of Parish, Brayden and Donovan McLaughlin, of Liverpool, mother, Charlotte Pyke, of Syracuse, brother, Clifford Pyke, of Syracuse and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends may call from 9–10 am Friday with services to follow at 10 am in BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME. The Rite of Committal will follow in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Please offer online tributes at www.
