Deacon Arzell Spivey, Sr. February 05, 1937 – February 22, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Sympathy Card Deacon Arzell Spivey, Sr., 82, of Milton, DE, departed this life on Friday, February 22, 2019, at Atlantic Shores Rehabilitation and Health Center in Millsboro, DE. Born in Newton, MS, he was the son of the late Samuel Spivey and Emma Townsend Spivey. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Marie Price Spivey.

Deacon Spivey was a member of Philadelphia Pentecostal Holiness Church. Prior to retiring, he was employed by Draper King Cole in Milton and Allen Foods, Inc. in Harbeson, DE. He will be lovingly remembered by: two daughters, Effie Miller and Shirley Spivey Timmons (Timothy); four sons, Robert Stewart, James Stewart, Arzell Spivey, Jr., and Harry Spivey (Lisa); two grandchildren whom he raised, Lakisha Williams and James “Rondell” Stewart; two sisters-in-law, Emma Dukes and Minnie Brooks; two brothers-in-law, Angus Price and Jerry Price (Viola); 12 other grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, in-laws, and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by a brother, “JC” Spivey, and three sisters, Thelma Lewis, Lillian Moncrief, and Ethel Washington. Deacon Spivey will lie in repose on Saturday, March 2, 2019, from 12 to 1 PM at Philadelphia Pentecostal Holiness Church, 13724 South Old State Road, Ellendale, DE. Bishop Major Foster will officiate.

The funeral service will begin at 1 PM. Interment will follow at First Congregational Church Cemetery, Milton.
