Obituary for Dean Durham Dean Durham, 91, passed away peacefully Monday, April 23, 2018. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00, Wednesday, April 25th at Starbuck funeral Home. Graveside services and burial will be held at 2:15 at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Dean was born July 12, 1926 in Blair, Texas to Owen and Rachel Patterson. She was the oldest of 6 children. She attended Merkel High School then married and had two children, Randy Carson and David Carson.

She worked in retail as well as for the Taylor County Expo Center for 16 years during the West Texas Fair and Rodeo. Later in life, she volunteered for Love and Care Ministries and was nominated for the Jefferson award for her work. She also enjoyed many hobbies during her life including square dancing and golf.

She had many friends and loved her family. Her presence will be missed by many. Survivors include son, Randy Carson and wife Barbara of Hawley.

Son, David Carson and wife Wanda, of South Korea. Son, Tom Durham, and wife Tina of Phillipsburg, New Jersey. Son, Jim Durham and wife Darlene of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania.

Granddaughter, Angela Carson-Wright and husband, Clell, of Abilene. Grandson, Cody Carson and wife, Lori of Merkel. Granddaughter, Kate Durham of New York City.

Grandson, Austin Durham, Granddaughter, Danielle Durham and grandson Zachary Durham of Pennsylvania. And great grandsons, McCall and Cash Carson of Merkel. Family would like to thank everyone at Silver Springs and Hendrick Hospice.

In lieu of flower, donations may be sent to Hendrick Hospice Care. Services are under the direction of Starbuck Funeral Home, Merkel, Texas.
