Obituary for Ona Fay Phillips Ona “Fay” Philiilps, 91, of Lubbock passed peacefully on October 7, 2018. Fay was born on August 8, 1927 in Noodle, Texas to Henry and Dessie Foster. She remained in the Merkel area until moving to Lubbock late in life.

Fay greatly enjoyed playing games with her friends and family. She also enjoyed writing and was the Author of “Sunny Side Up: Family Tales of a West Texas Childhood”. Fay was a stay at home mom for many of her early years and was a talented seamstress.

After her children grew she worked in the banking industry and as the County Tax Assessor. She is survived by her children Linda and husband James Campbell of Hawley, Curtis and wife Karen Phillips of Celina, and Patti and husband Greg of Lubbock, 10 grandchildren, 17 grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister Gerneva Dennis of Abilene.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dillard and siblings Robert Earl Foster, JC Foster, and Mozell Foote. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Starbuck Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
