Debbie Sue Lennie May 17, 1959 – March 29, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Debbie Sue Lennie, 59, of Tama, quietly passed away Friday, March 29, 2019 at Premier Estates of Toledo under the care of Iowa River Hospice with family at her side. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Pastor Kenny Mervin officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Montour.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2019 from 1:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home. Debbie was born to Eugene T. and Marlis J. (Smith) Lennie on May 17, 1959, in Iowa City, Iowa. Debbie’s biggest joys in life were her two sons, Jessy and Charles and her grandchildren Javanna and Daejon.

She enjoyed the entertainment at the Meskwaki Casino, crossword puzzles, shopping, going for rides and most of all her family. Debbie worked at the Meskwaki Casino in Tama. Survivors include two sons, Jessy Lennie and Charles Pirtle Jr. both of Marshalltown; two grandchildren, Javonna and Daejon Lennie; siblings, Cheryl (Larry) Bowden of Cottage Grove, OR, Tom (Diane) Lennie of Luzerne, Bruce Lennie of St. Cloud, MN, twin sister, Candie Arbogast (Steve Howell) of Coppock, Dawn Vest of Tama, and Kevin Lennie of Grinnell; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceding her in death were her parents; one sister, Sandra Pierce; brothers-in-law, David Vest and James Arbogast. Debbie was and always will be loved and missed by many. The family wishes to send heartfelt thanks to Premier Estates of Toledo, Iowa River Hospice in Marshalltown, and Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home of Tama for their expertise and care at this difficult time.
