Mrs. Deborah Bradley Clark was the eldest daughter of Mr.& Mrs. Pierce Bradley and she was born in Marion, NC on February 1, 1949. Debbie, as she liked to be called, grew up in a loving home with brothers David, Keith and sister Susie. She attended McDowell High and it was there that she met the love of her life, Horace “Butch” Bobbitt Clark III.

The couple were inseparable from early in their courtship and they were married on July 26, 1969 in the First Baptist Church in Marion. The young couple soon started a family of their own and had their only son Horace “Beau” Bobbitt Clark IV in Atlanta, Georgia in 1971. Debbie was a wonderful loving mother and enjoyed spending time with her son.

She was heavily involved in all of her son’s activities and coached his youth soccer team. In the late 80’s, the whole world opened up to Debbie when the family relocated to Jakarta, Indonesia. It was in Indonesia that Debbie volunteered her energy to various causes.

Living overseas allowed her to see and experience the world in a way that many can only dream of. Her travels took her as far as Australia, New Zealand, Mauritius, Egypt, Kenya, Turkey and throughout Asia and Europe. Though she experienced some of the most splendid places in the world, she told her son that her favorite adventure was rafting down the Alas River in Sumatra, Indonesia for 5 days camping in the jungle.

Through all her travels she never lost her North Carolina roots. She was always proud of her home and the first to speak of the beauty of the mountains of North Carolina to people in every corner of the globe. The next chapter of her life, found Debbie and Butch living by the beach in Amelia Island, Florida.

In 2002 in her pre-retirement era, Debbie’s new love came into her life in the shape of her grandson Cade Frisbee Clark. Debbie was close with every single member of the family and she loved hosting the entire family at the beach. She will be remembered by her loving husband Butch Clark, her son Beau and wife Christina, and her grandson Cade, her parents Pierce & Marian Bradley, her brother David and his wife Lori, their sons Nathaniel & Zachary; her brother Keith and his wife Robin, their daughters Nicki & Emily, and son Allen; her sister Susie Kingsmore and husband Mike, sons Parker & Harris, Butch’s sister Elsie Mitchell and husband Pete and countless other loving family and friends.
