Delores A. Jordan, age 80, of Nebo, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2018 while at Autumn Care of Marion. A native of Yancey County, North Carolina, born on March 14, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Gladys Benfield Woody. Delores loved to watch her soap operas and enjoyed working puzzles and knitting.

Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband of 35 years, James Jordan of the home; four children, Randy Johnson (Tina) of Pleasant Gardens, Billy Johnson (Carolann) of Old Fort, Wiley Johnson of Marion and Teresa Moore of Marion; three sisters, Bertha Mae Hamilton of Morganton, Shirley Edwards (Lonnie) of North Cove and Carolyn Burleson of Colorado; and one brother, Gary Woody (Pauline) of Morganton. Delores is also survived by seven grandchildren, including her two special granddaughters who were her caretakers, Katherine Metcalf and Chasity Johnson; eleven great grandchildren; two great-great granddaughter; and a number of nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service in Marion with Pastor Donald Justice officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
