Virginia Raye Godfrey Seagle, age 76, of Marion, North Carolina, while surrounded by her loving family, went home to be with the Lord on the morning of Friday, June 15, 2018 at John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center in Asheville. A native of McDowell County, born on August 25, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Ed and Addie McFalls Godfrey. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she loved the Lord with all her heart and lived her life to serve and please Him.

The Lord gave her a gift to play the piano and she dearly loved using her talent for Him and His glory. Virginia loved everyone and showed kindness to all, always looking for the good in everyone and everything. Her life, as well as her last days, were spent concerned for others and praising Him.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by an infant daughter; one daughter, Geraldine Hensley Carter; and one son, Jerry Seagle. Virginia is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, James Seagle; one daughter, Priscilla Seagle and fiancée, David Boone; one daughter-in-law, Becky Seagle; one brother, John Godfrey; two grandsons, Zachary Hensley and fiancée, Jessica and Brice Hensley; one step grandson, Caleb Jones and fiancée, Megan; and one step great-grandson, Colt Jones. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 18, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at Redeemed Free Will Baptist Church by her former Pastor, Pastor Gerald Reynolds, her current Pastor, Pastor Jerry McClain and Brother Larry Cable officiating.

Interment will follow at Murphy’s Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., prior to the service at the church.
