Elizabeth “Liz” Moore, age 60, of Old Fort, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, May 31, 2018. Liz was born in Newport News, Va. On September 14, 1957 to the late Gurney and Yvonne White.

Liz loved the mountains, and was especially proud of her Native American history. She appreciated all the beautiful things that nature had to offer, especially herbal medicine. Having a love for animals, she adored her Pomeranian Prince, who passed a few years ago, and Liz missed dearly.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her sister, Donna Bane and husband Daniel of Newport News, VA; a nephew Michael Daniel Bane of Newport News; two nieces, Humility Ruth Pugh of Gloucester, VA, and Endurance Hope Gibbens and husband Bradley of Newport News, VA; and a longtime friend who was like a sister, Cuba Ford of Marion. A private Memorial Service will be held at Westmoreland Funeral Home in Marion on Sunday, June 3, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations in Liz name to either the Brother Wolf Foundation at 74 S. Main Street, Marion, NC 28752, or to the Warriors at Home at www. warriorsathome.org/donate.
