Joyce Turner Loftin, age 66, of Marion, North Carolina passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital in Asheville. A native of Buncombe County, Joyce was born on February 1, 1952 to the late George and Hattie Rhodes Turner. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, George Loftin; sister, Barbara Jo Philbeck and two brothers, Ernest Turner and Howard “John Henry” Turner.

Joyce attended Old Fort Church of God. She was a Nascar fan and enjoyed camping and cookouts. She was always upbeat and happy.

Joyce mostly liked spending time with her family, loved her little dogs and considered them her babies. Left to cherish Joyce’s memories are one son, John “Boo Boo” Loftin, one step-daughter, Kelly Ryder; two sisters, Margaret Bailey (Ray) and Martha Frye. Also surviving Joyce are a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service to celebrate Joyce’s life will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the Old Fort Church of God with Reverends Gerald Gibson and Travis Cook officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow the service at Cherry Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
