In the early morning hours on Friday, July 6, 2018, Lorine Autrey Clark went to her heavenly home surrounded by her family and friends. A native of Yancey County, she was born on August 10, 1925 to the late Roy and Mary Lou Murphy Autrey. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Steve Clark; one son, Joe Clark; one sister, Ruth Robinson and one brother, Clarence Autrey.

Lorine was a member of Liberty Free Will Baptist Church. She was an amazing pastor’s wife and served in the church in many capacities. Lorine was known for directing the greatest Bible Schools.

She was also an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting. Left behind to cherish her memories are her three children, Tom Clark and wife Mackelene, Duane Clark and wife Janet and Rebekah Clark Thomas and husband Jan. Also surviving Lorine are a sister-in-law, Elsie Shurson and husband Norman; ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and a number of very loved nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 9, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service. A funeral to celebrate Lorine’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Harold Webb officiating. Interment will take place following the service at South Estatoe Baptist Church Cemetery in Yancey County.
