Mr. Robert Charles “Boonie” Boone, age 67, of Marion passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at the John F. Keever Solace Center in Asheville, NC. Boonie was born in McDowell on July 14, 1950 to the late Margaret Blackburn Crouch and Jack Boone. Boonie loved music, especially Elvis.

He could play any instrument, but preferred the guitar. He will be remembered as someone who truly enjoyed life, and was always outgoing and fun loving. Boonie leaves behind his sister Judy Crouch Robinette of Marion; a nephew, Blaine Crouch of Marion; and a niece Melissa Howell of Asheville, NC.

The family will have a gathering of friends and family on Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Westmoreland Funeral Home of Marion, NC. A time of remembrance will follow the gathering. Flowers are accepted but the family asks that memorials be made to CarePartners Hospice of McDowell at P.O Box 25338, Asheville NC 28813.
