Mr. Mitchell E. Alford, age 91, of Weaverville, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the Laurels of Green Tree Ridge in Asheville. A native of Hot Springs, AR, he was born on October 31, 1926 to the late Maurice D. Alford and Selma Mitchell Alford. Mr. Alford was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force having served faithfully during WWII.

He was retired from Exxon Mobile where he worked as a Chemical Engineer. An incredible husband, father and friend, he cared lovingly for his adopted son Hadi who was afflicted with a number of physical impediments. His gentle, kindhearted and sweet spirit was well known by those who loved this man and he will be remembered fondly for his love for his family and friends.

His first wife, Jacquelin, and his beloved Hadi, preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife Teresa Gibbs Alford of the home, a brother, Jerome Alford of Hot Springs, AR, and numerous other extended family members. No services are planned.
