Arthur Michael Parker, 72 of Marion passed away peacefully at his home Thursday, September 13, 2018. He was born in McDowell County on July 25, 1946 to the late Geneva Webb Parker and Arthur Jonas Parker. He was the owner/operator of McDowell Aluminum Company for over Forty years.

He was a wonderful dad, papaw, and great grandpa. He loved his family very much. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Parker, sister, Laura Ann Bradley, brothers, Carl, Cecil and Terry Parker.

He is survived by his daughter, Shevia Parker Fox and husband John of Burnsville, daughter Cathy Gilliland and son Mike Parker Jr. and Brother Doug Parker of Marion. Four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 374 Hudlow Road, Forest City, North Carolina 28043.

A private memorial service will be held to honor his life at a later date.
