Celia Long Loftis, age 74, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Mission Hospital McDowell. A native and lifelong resident of McDowell County, born January 6, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Earl Long and Edna Norton. She was preceded in death by one son, Todd Stewart Loftis.

A member of Garden Creek Baptist Church, Celia retired from West Court Food Center following more than 27 years. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, puzzles and gardening. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Glenn Loftis; one son, Darrell Loftis; one daughter Julie Loftis Teaster; two brothers, Robert Long and Danny Long; five grandchildren, Christopher Loftis, Steven Loftis and wife Kayla, Matthew Loftis, Danielle Clark and Caitlyn Teaster Mitchell and husband Corey; and eight great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at Garden Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Coy Jeans and Rev. Don White officiating.

Interment will be held at McDowell Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the church.
