Wanda Gail Jones , September 12, 1950 — June 02, 2018

Wanda Gail Jones, loving mother, grandmother and sister, while surrounded by her family, passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at her son’s residence in Marion, North Carolina, while under the care of Hospice of the Carolina Foothills. A native of Greenville, South Carolina, born September 12, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Georgia Hargrove Jones. Wanda, who enjoyed line dancing, resided in Marion from 1974 until 2010.

While living in Marion she had proudly worked with many developmentally disabled adults and treated them with respect and compassion. In 2010 Wanda moved to Rogersville, Tennessee, where she worked at the Chip Hale Center, a facility for the developmentally disabled. She was a past member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 21.

She attended Rogersville Baptist Temple and formerly was a member of the line dancing class at the Church Hill (Tenn. ) Senior Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Norman Jones Radford; one daughter, Samantha Wacaster, who passed away October 5, 2017; three sisters, Geraldine Owens, Barbara Cauthen and Dale Rowland.

Left to cherish her precious memories are her loving husband of 8 years, Bill D. Jones; three children, Allen Radford (Anglia), Tammy Ledford (Ray) and Robbie Radford (Amanda); one brother, Jack Scroggins; eleven grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren. A celebration of Wanda’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at Harvest Time Baptist Church in Marion with Pastor Bruce Ward and Pastor David Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
