Deborah Debbie L Lynch Young , August 08, 1947 — June 04, 2018

Deborah L. “Debbie” Young, 70, of Bloomsburg passed away June 4, 2018, at Bonham Nursing Center. She was born Aug. 8, 1947, in Berwick, a daughter of the late Richard E. Lynch and Ruth (Stiner) Lynch Whitfield.

Debbie attended Berwick and Southern Columbia schools and graduated from Bloomsburg High School in 1965. She then went to Nesbitt Hospital School of Nursing in Kingston, graduating in 1968. She worked at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut, for five years.

She then went to work at the Bloomsburg Hospital in the operating room from 1973 until 2008, except for one year in Honolulu, Hawaii. She was a member of Shiloh Bible Church. Debbie enjoyed reading and dogs.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a stepbrother, Scott Carey. Debbie is survived by her husband, Daniel E. Young, to whom she was married Oct. 25, 1980; two sons: Mitchell A. Young and his wife Jenna of Camden, N.C., and Dr. Christopher D. Young and his wife Michelle of Burwell, England; two granddaughters: Joslynn and Sarah Young of Camden, N.C.; two brothers: Richard E. Lynch II and his wife Karen of Dunmore, and Randall Lynch of Orangeville; four stepsisters: Susan Carey of Mount Carmel, Patricia and her husband John Bourdelais of Denver, Colo.

, Cindy and her husband John Litterer of Bloomsburg, and Cathy and her husband Jeff Dressel of Mifflinville; a stepbrother: Wade Whitfield and his wife Denise of Bloomsburg; her mother-in-law: Helen Young of Bloomsburg; sister-in-law: Mary Jane Young of New Cumberland; brother-in-law: Brian Young and his wife Carla of Catawissa; and numerous nieces and nephews. Service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Shiloh Bible Church, 123 Church St., Bloomsburg, PA 17815, with her pastor, Dr. Douglas H. Lyon, officiating. Burial will be at Creveling Cemetery, Bloomsburg.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the James L. Hinckley Jr. Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 1024 N.
