Debra Lee (Jones) Cross was born on April 10, 1959 to her parents, Glen Lee and Karen Margean Jones. She was the middle of three children in her family. Debbie loved her family and found great joy in spending time in nature.

Debbie loved caring for and serving people, especially those with special abilities. She worked as a candy striper and as a volunteer at the Ogden Blind and Deaf school. After graduating Ben Lomond High, Debbie attended Weber State University studying Special Education and Early Childhood Development.

While attending WSU, she met the love of her life John Mark Cross. They got married on March 30, 1978 in the Ogden Utah Temple. Debbie soon became pregnant and began her full-time career of motherhood.

Debbie was a loving and devoted mother to her four children and every child that she met. She spent much of her time being a listening ear, a counselor, and friend to all. Debbie faced many trials and health problems throughout her lifetime.

It became a hobby to defy medical science and prove the doctor’s prognosis’ wrong. Debbie’s super-power was faith. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She knew without a doubt that she had a Savior and that her prayers were answered. Debbie could always be found counting her blessings, especially on those difficult days where her pain was too hard to bear. Debbie was also a grandma to 14 grandchildren and two great-grandsons.

Her grandchildren and great-grandsons meant everything to her. She loved being with family. After years of valiantly fighting MS and several other health problems, Debbie passed away peacefully at home on March 8, 2019.

She was surrounded by family and is now free from the pains of this world. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her siblings: Scott (DeAnn) Jones and Tamara (David) Bennett; her loving husband John Mark Cross; her children: Stephen Cross, Michael (Lara) Cross, Emily (Justin) Thompson, Andrew (Amanda) Cross; her 14 grandchildren; and her 2 great-grandsons.
