Albert Lester Eakins December 5, 1930-March 6, 2019 Albert L. Eakins, 88, passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer on Mar. 6, 2019. He was born Dec.

5, 1930 to Herschel Eakins and Inez Shill. He was reared by his mother in Henefer, UT. He graduated from North Summit High School and then served in the US Army near the front lines during the Korean Conflict.

He married Nadine Waller in the Salt Lake LDS Temple Oct. 28, 1954. He was a USPS mail carrier for 35 years.

Albert worked hard all of his life to take care of his family. He enjoyed camping, gardening, and his family loved his Dutch-oven cooking. He loved his morning gathering with his friends at McDonalds.

He never met a stranger. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, his daughters, Karen (David) Thorsted, Denise (Jeff) VanWoerkom, 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and his sister, Deyon Spendlove.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Freida Sickinger. A viewing will be held at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. from 6-8 p.m. Friday Mar.

15 and burial will be in Peterson, UT on Saturday, Mar. 16th at 11a.m. A special thanks to IHC Hospice for their tender care. Albert, you are loved and will be missed by many.
