Dennis “Buck” Mowry, age 74, of Millersburg, Ohio passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019 at LifeCare Hospice, Wooster, Ohio following a courageous battle with cancer. Private family graveside services at Baker Ridge Cemetery will be held, per Dennis’s wishes. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio.

, Wooster, Ohio 44691. Dennis was born August 7, 1944 in Millersburg, Ohio and was the son of Paul and Ina (Carnahan) Mowry. On June 27, 1965 he married Lora Kay Hoyman and she preceded him in death on June 12, 2013.

Dennis graduated with the first graduating class of West Holmes High School. He worked for the Village of Millersburg and retired from Walmart Tire and Lube. Dennis was a member of the police auxiliary.

In his younger years he enjoyed painting and working on cars. Dennis loved woodworking, watching old western movies and watching his grandchildren play. is survived by two children, Denise (Conrad) Miller and Chad Mowry both of Millersburg, Ohio; six grandchildren, Jessica Strouse, Tyler Miller, Sierra Miller, Christopher Mowry, Cassie Wolpert and Trisha Schmidt; six great-grandchildren, Emma, Rowan, Emma, Owen, Bryson and Breanna; and a sister, Diane (Paul Dean) McCluggage of Millersburg, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lora; daughter, Teresa Mowry and son, Paul Mowry.
