Dewey Odell Black August 27, 1927 – March 19, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Dewey Odell Black, 91, of Smith Farm Road Lexington passed away Tuesday March 19, 2019 at Piedmont Crossing. Funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday March 23, 2019 at Emanuel Reformed Church where he was a member, with the Rev. Ricky Payne officiating.

Burial will follow at Holly Grove Lutheran Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Odell was born in Davidson County on August 27, 1927 to the late Luther Black and Pearl Myers Black.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Paul and Elwood Black. He served in the United States Army and served in the Korean Conflict. He was a self employed electrician and a farmer.

Surviving are cousins, Clayton Hepler (Margaret) and Weldon Imbler. Memorials may be made to, Emanuel Reformed Church, 1170 Emanuel Church Road, Thomasville, NC 27360 or to, Mercy Ships, PO Box 2020, Garden Valley, Texas 75771.
