John’s Obituary John Edward Cables, 65, of W. 8th Avenue in Lexington passed away Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 12:00pm to 2:00pm Saturday, March 16 at 224 West 8th Avenue in Lexington, NC. John was born on August 11, 1953 in Richland County, SC to Frank John Cables and Eloise Fowler Cables.

He had worked at Parkdale Mill in Lexington and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Annie Eloise Gray. Surviving are his son, Alan Cables (Rachel) of High Point; sisters, Doris Cables Hernandez (Pedro) of Lexington; Rose Fowler Sponhaltz (Fred) of Rocky Mount, NC; Eloise Frazier (Steve) of Whitaker, NC; four grandchildren, Kimberly, Tony, Genevieve, Adrian; and his fur baby, Sheba; three nieces, Michelle Bailey, Tami Kane, Casey Webb; four nephews, Richard Wine, James, Eric and Eddie Webb.
