Pat Hilton Coppley June 28, 1930 – March 10, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Pat Hilton Coppley, 88, of Marlin Drive, died Sunday, March 10 at her home surrounded by her loving family. A graveside service will be held at 2pm Wednesday, March 13 at Jersey Baptist Church Cemetery, by the Rev. Matt Riggsbee.

The family will receive friends from 1-2pm in the church sanctuary prior to the service. Mrs. Coppley was born June 28, 1930 in Davie County to Roland Alexander Hilton and Sallie McCullough Hilton. She was a member of Jersey Baptist Church.

She worked for Western Electic, later AT&T, where she was selected to work on the “brain” of the Zeus Missile Project. She retired after 30 years of service. Pat enjoyed traveling and spent many years traveling with the Telephone Pioneer Club.

Her husband, Austin Adam Coppley; her brothers, Ernest Hilton, Robert Hilton, Everette Hilton, and Cecil Hilton and her sisters, Ollie Stokes, Ethel Beacham, Ruby Collins, Dot Coppley, Kay Latham, Helen Howard, and Vada Sheets, preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Gail Coppley Sewell of Lexington; her grandson, Adam Sewell (Mary) of Lexington; and her great grandchildren, Emma Leigh and Ellie Anna Sewell. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to Jersey Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2920 Jersey Church Road, Lexington NC 27292 or to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington NC 27292.
