Diana L. Johnston, 68, of Freeport, PA, passed away on Friday, November 2, 2018 while in the company of family, at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot Diana was born on July 1, 1950 in her family’s home in the McVille/Clinton section of South Buffalo Twp. She was the daughter of the late Rose A. (Offredi) and Stanley M. Kammerdiener. Diana was the widow of Donald P. Johnston who passed in 2015.

She was employed for many years at the Camerlo Grocery store in Freeport, working in all aspects of the business. She had also worked for a number of years at the Saxony Health Center as a nursing assistant. Diana was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who loved to cook and bake for her family.

She also created many wedding cakes and other special occasion cakes for so many of her large family over the years. She was an avid reader enjoyed sewing and traveling with her husband. Her greatest love was caring for her family and spending time with her grand daughters was her greatest joy.

Diana is survived by two daughters and son in law, Rene S. Johnston, of Freeport; Michelle L. & Joseph Lenhart, of Buffalo Twp. Her 2 beautiful granddaughters, Addison & Madelyn Lenhart. She is also survived by three sisters, Theresa M. & Joe Crytzer, of Ford City; Patricia I. & Tom Arble, of Worthington; Beverly E. & Buddy Walter, of Mercer; numerous nieces & nephews and her sister in law and friend, Sally Johnston of Freeport.

In addition to her parents and husband, Diana is preceded by her brother, Merle S. Kammerdiener and sister, Carol J. Smith. Family and friends will be received on Monday, November 5th from 2-4 & 6-8 pm in the Redmond Funeral Home Inc. 524 High St. in Freeport, PA Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 6th in the United Presbyterian Church of Freeport with Pastor Adam Clever officiating. A luncheon honoring Diana’s love of feeding friends and family will be provided in Hotham Hall immediately following the service.

A private burial will be held in Freeport Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to; Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation 230 East Ohio Street, Suite 500 Chicago, IL 60611 or Freeport Area Library Association 428 Market Street.
