Obituary of Diane Crowl Diane L. Crowl, age 72, of Painted Post, NY passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Born in Corning, New York, on February 25, 1946, Daine was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Helen (Sargent) Dixon. On September 14, 1963, she married to David F. Crowl, who predeceased her on November 15, 2013.

Diane attended Painted Post High School and, before retiring, held many waitressing jobs around the Painted Post, NY area. Diane enjoyed camping and spending time with family. She especially adored her grandchildren, great-grandchildren.

She was very fond of her friends from the Sunflower Acres Campground. Besides her parents Diane was also predeceased by her sisters: Barbara Arcovio, Janice Dixon , Gloria Vaughan, Virginia Conover, Marlene Pejsha and her brothers: Ted Dixon, Gary Dixon, Lawrence Dixon II, Harold Dixon. Her loving family includes her husband that predeceased her of 50 years, David Crowl; her two children: Teresa (Crowl) Haight of Addison, NY and John (Zandra) Crowl of Corning, NY; her four grandchildren: Aaron Haight, Marissa Haight-Jellison, Alex Crowl, Cerena Crowl; her great-grandchildren: Lucas Haight of Painted Post and Luna Jellison of Shippensburg, PA.

Among many nieces and nephews, she is also survived by her sisters: Doris Pierce of Horseheads, NY, Penny Root of Painted Post, NY; Judy Faulkner of Painted Post, NY; her brother: Richard Dixon of Painted Post, NY. Family and friends are invited to calling hours at Carpenter’s Funeral Home, 14 E. Pulteney St. Corning, NY on Sunday, February 24, 2019 from 4:00pm-5:30pm. A celebration of her life will immediately follow at 5:30pm with Pastor Mort Gridley Jr. officiating.

Burial will be held in Hope Cemetery, Campbell, NY. Those wishing to make donations in lieu of flowers may contribute in his memory to Camp Good Days, 643 W. Lake Road, Branchport, NY 14418 or CareFirst (Hospice), 3805 Meads Creek Rd, Painted Post, NY 14870.
