Dolores M. Colapietro, 93, passed away on May 26, 2018. Dolores was born June 18, 1924, the daughter of Harry and Mary Humble. Dolores was a 1942 graduate of Girard High School.

She worked for the East Ohio Gas Company in Girard and in Niles. Later, she served as an assistant librarian for the Girard City Schools. Dolores will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother, who always looked forward to spending time with her family.

Some of her favorite memories were made on family vacations in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, where she was lovingly referred to as the “Beach Master”. Dolores was a committed member of the Girard United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir for many years. She was passionate about golf, having been a member of both Mahoning Country Club and Oak Tree Country Club.

Dolores was also a devoted fan of all Cleveland sports teams and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Memories of Dolores will be carried on by her family and friends, including her daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Chuck Hennon of Strongsville, OH, and her daughter-in-law, Evelyn Colapietro of Youngstown, OH. She is also survived by her five grandchildren: Chris (Paula) Hennon of Asheville, NC, Craig Hennon of Brunswick, OH, Bob (Allison) Colapietro of Kennesaw, GA, Ryan (Patricia) Colapietro of Milford, OH, and Carrie (Bryan) Stehura of Louisville, OH.

Dolores also leaves behind nine beautiful great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by her husband August Colapietro (2010), whom she married on September 11, 1943. She is also preceded in death by her two sons Robert Anthony (2000) and James Steven (1997), as well as her brother Harry Humble.

A memorial service and celebration of Dolores’s life will be held on Monday, June 4th, 11:00 AM at the Girard United Methodist Church on 22 N. Market Street, Girard. Family will receive friends one hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Girard United Methodist Church.
