Doloris Ann Sherrill Sav , May 01, 1943 — February 25, 2019

Doloris Ann “Meme” (Sherrill) Savage, age 75, of Evansville, IN, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, February 25, 2019, surrounded by her family. Doloris was born May 1, 1943, in Princeton, KY, to Richard “Ditney” and Mary L. “Bobbie” (Fraliex) Sherrill. She was employed with the Vanderburgh County Prosecutor’s Office for 22 years.

Doloris was a fighter and very strong willed. She survived breast cancer and lung cancer, but lost her battle with COPD, as well as a broken heart from losing her husband Bob last year. Doloris was a wonderful wife, mom, meme and friend.

She always kept the house immaculate; cleaning was a hobby that she thoroughly enjoyed. She loved her girls, grandkids and great-grandson to the moon and back. Doloris and Becky shared a very special relationship.

Not only were they mother and daughter, they were best friends. Doloris and Robin also shared a special relationship. They loved traveling and spending time together.

She enjoyed shopping and loved the slot machines. Doloris was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Doloris is survived by daughters, Becky Zoch (Darryl) and Robin Savage; grandchildren, Kyle Hudson (Stephani) and Emily Hudson (Timothy); great grandson, Kamdyn Hudson; step great granddaughter, Addrianna Spain; sisters-in-law, Betty Sherrill and Terry Best; and special friend, Judy Reeb.

She is preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband of 54 years, Robert “Bob” Savage; and brothers, Gene and Larry Sherrill. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 1, 2019 at Vann Avenue Baptist Church, 2608 Vann Avenue, Evansville with Dr. Reverend Larry Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 12:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville and from 10:00 a.m. until service time, Friday, March 1, 2019 at Vann Avenue Baptist Church. Stephani, your devotion, love, and countless hours of caring you have given to mom over the last several months is so appreciated and it means the world to us. She loved you like a granddaughter.
