Obituary for Don L Gilmore 89-year- old, Don L. Gilmore of Pana, Illinois died Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 2:29 AM at Prairie Rose Health Care Center, Pana. Don L. Gilmore was born Sunday, January 6, 1929 in Shelby County, Illinois the son of James Edward and Edith Stella (maiden name Mahan) Gilmore. Don was raised in the Ramsey/Herrick Area, and he married Lorene Lorton on February 18, 1948 in Shelbyville, Illinois.

She preceded him in death on January 26, 2015. Don was a member of Church of Christ, Herrick, Illinois, and he farmed in the Herrick area, later going to work at Firestone and Christian County Housing Authority. Don L. Gilmore is survived by son Don “Donnie” Gilmore (Judy) of Mattoon, Illinois; daughter Karen Braye of Pana, Illinois; son Ron Gilmore (Brenda) of Fairhope, Alabama; daughter Brenda Kehl (John) of Assumption, Illinois; son Kevin Gilmore (Pam) of Taylorville, Illinois; son Brent Gilmore (partner Anna Strate) of Mount Vernon, Illinois; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
