Donald D. Thomas passed away on September 5, 2018 in New Life Hospice. He was born on November 24, 1948 in Mobile Alabama. During his childhood he briefly lived in Detroit Michigan with his mother, brother and sister before setting in Lorain, Ohio.

He attended Lorain High School. After high school he enlisted in the US marines. He was deployed to Okinawa Japan during the Vietnam War.

Donald held numerous job positions until retiring early on disability. Donald enjoyed repairing cars, landscaping, fishing, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. Donald was preceded in death by his mother Leola Duncan, brother, George English Sr., sister, Yvonne Massey, niece Valerie Massey, great nephew William English.

Donald leaves behind to mourn his passing one son Charles Thomas and one daughter Celia Shelton, a host of family, friends and his grandchildren. Friends may call Tuesday, September 11, 2018 in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, 3001 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, OH from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
