Obituary for Teresa Vargas Lugo Teresa Vargas Lugo, age 76, of Lorain, passed away Monday, October 29, 2018 at her residence while under the care of New Life Hospice following a lengthy illness. Born January 9, 1942 in Jayuya, Puerto Rico, she lived in Ponce, Puerto Rico where she graduated from Dr. Pila High School. She also attended Escuela Superior Vocational where she studied nursing.

Teresa worked as an assembler at Data Products-Tuque in Ponce for over 7 years, retiring in 1985. In 1996, she moved to Lorain where she has lived since. Teresa was a member of and volunteered at El Dorado Senior Center in Lorain.

She enjoyed reading, sewing, watching television and keeping her home spotless. Surviving is her husband of 57 years, Americo Torres Lugo; sons, Angel L. Lugo of Ponce, Puerto Rico, Luis A. Lugo of Lorain and Carlos A. of Brooklyn, New York; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; step a brother, Damian Vargas of New York, New York; sisters, Felicita Torres and Ana Lydia Figueroa both of Ponce, Puerto Rico; and a step sisters, Santa Rodriguez of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernardino Vargas and Iluminada Reyes; step brothers, Silvestre Robledo, Pablo Robledo and Amador Robledo; and step sisters; Confesora Robledo and Mercedes Robledo.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 – 9:00 pm in the Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. The family will also receive friends on Friday from 8:30 am until the time of mass at 9:30 am at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Rev.
