Donald J Cook April 21, 1944 – January 10, 2019 Share this obituary Local Florists Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Donald Cook age 74 of Midway passed away Thursday January 10, 2019. He was born April 21, 1944 in Midway to the late Albert and Susie (Cates) Cook. He was a lifelong row crop and cattle farmer.

He was owner of Cook Bros. Sand and Gravel and later SAC Sand & Gravel with his son Ray. He was a past member of Ouachita School Board.

He enjoyed deer hunting and running his dogs with family and friends. He wanted plenty of standers when the hounds were cast. He loved being with family especially his grandson Rustin.

He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Shirley (Baker) Cook whom he married December 12, 1966 and sister in law Anna Lea Cook. Survivors include his son Ray Cook (Nancy) grandson Rustin Cook, and a brother Doyle Cook all of Midway.

Visitation will be Saturday January 12, 6:00-8:00 pm at Regency Funeral Home. Services will be Sunday January 13, 2:00 pm at Midway Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Fred Etheridge and Bro.

Kevin Spurlin officiating. Burial will be at Neighbors Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randy Parish, Ryan Parish, Gary Parish, Caleb Parish, David McDaniel, and Alan Cook.

Honorary pallbearers will be Fred V. McDaniel, Fred C. McDaniel, Ed Ray, Kelvin (K. B.) Bryant and Doyle Cook. Special thanks to Hospice Home Care, Ruth Ann and Nurses and Staff and Dr. Jonathan Thomas of Texarkana.
