Donald James Crawley Sr, 94, of Acworth passed away on Monday, January 14, 2018. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday in the Chapel of Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta, with Rev. Julie Wright officiating.

Don attended North Fulton HS and graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. After college he joined his father’s company and worked as a manufacturer’s representative. After his father retired, Don formed the Crawley Equipment Company and continued in business until retirement.

During this time, he was a member of the Jaycee’s of Atlanta and an active member of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church. Don spent many years developing, playing and refereeing volleyball in the Atlanta area. In 2006 he was inducted into the YMCA Volleyball Hall of Fame.

He also volunteered with church athletics through coaching and mentoring. In later life, he enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include son, Donald Crawley, Jr; daughters Debra Crawley Garrett and husband John (deceased), Beth Crawley Rudat and her husband Don; grandchildren, Patrick C Garrett, David C Garrett, Amanda Rudat and Emilia Rudat.
