Obituary for Donald Lee Richardson Donald Lee Richardson, age 81, of Swords Creek, Virginia passed away on April 15, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Richardson was born on May 1, 1936 in Swords Creek, Virginia to the late Walter Douglas and Lucille Turner Richardson. He was a lifelong resident of Swords Creek and a member of the Pine Creek Pentecostal Holiness Church.

He was a retired coalminer and DMME State Mine Inspector. Donald was an avid craftsmen. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing.

He thoroughly loved his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Woodrow, Elmer, Paul, Arnold, and Perry Richardson; sisters, Bertha Miller, Mary Richardson, Marie Perkins, Pansy Miller Whited, and Claire Miller; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Richardson; and infant grandson, Jeremy Charles Smith. He is survived by His wife of 61 years, Evelyn Wanda Armes Richardson Daughters Diana Smith and husband, Bruce of Paintlick, Virginia Sandra Elkins and husband, Chester of Paintlick, Virginia Vicki Horn and husband, Richard of Pounding Mill, Virginia Sons Bruce Richardson and wife, Sue of Tazewell, Virginia Kenny Richardson and wife, Tamara of Rosedale, Virginia Keith Richardson and wife, Jessica of Paintlick, Virginia Daughter of the Heart, Gaynell Richardson of Swords Creek, Virginia Sister, Bessie Richardson of Swords Creek, Virginia Eighteen Grandchildren, Twenty Seven Great Grandchildren and two on the way, and One Great-Great Grandchild A host of additional family and friends also survive.

The family would like to extend special gratitude to the staff of Helping Hands Hospice and nurses Elizabeth and Laura for the care that they provided to Mr. Richardson during his illness. Funeral services for Donald Lee Richardson will be conducted at 11 AM on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at the Pine Creek Pentecostal Holiness Church – 634 Pine Creek Road, Swords Creek Virginia. The Reverend Jim Richardson and Rev.

Phillip Horton will be officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill Virginia. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Muljibhai J. Thakkar and Dr. Forrest Swan. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6 PM to 9 PM at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia.
