Was born on July 30, 1926, passed peacefully on November 5, 2018. Don’s greatest love was his wife, Audrey, and his family, and was a great provider for all of them. He was an employee of AC Delco, and was proud to have worked on the Apollo Missions guidance systems.

He was also a church organist for 65 years, having served many of the catholic parishes on the south side. He also had his own TV repair business-“Be Safer-Call Schaefer”. He was surrounded and supported in prayer by many beautiful people, and he was thankful for their presence in his life.

Don was preceded in death by Audrey, his wife of 63 years. Don is survived by his children and their families: Mark, Gary (Cindy), Neil, Gail (Duane) King, Janice (David) Gaeth, and Connie. Don had six grandchildren: Andrea Rob) Witkowski, Rebecca (Mike) Lidwin, Scott (Crystal), Matt (Meredith) King, the late Brennan Gaeth and Carly Gaeth.

Don had five great-grandchildren: Abigail, Olivia, Maddie, Mollie, and Myles. Other significant people in Don’s life were the family of Harold Multhauf-Edna, Linda (Cliff) Lentz and their children, James, Donna, and Mary; the extended Multhauf family; and dear friends Carol and Lloyd Barnes. Visitation will be held at ST.

CHARLES BORROMEO CATHOLIC CHURCH, 3100 W. Parnell Ave. , on Saturday, November 10, 2018, from 9:00-11:00 AM, with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Entombment to follow at Mt.
