Donna Jean Burkholder, 75 Youngstown: There will be funeral services on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Thompson Filicky Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street in Boardman with Pastor Chris Woolley officiating for Donna Jean Burkholder, 75, who passed away peacefully, Tuesday evening, November 6, 2018 at Oasis Center for Rehabilitation. Donna was born January 19, 1943 in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Leroy and Mary (Staydohar) Lipscomb. She graduated from Chaney High School in 1961 and was a lifelong area resident.

Donna was a clerk at Youngstown State University Bookstore for several years and for Sami Quick Stop in Struthers for over 20 years. She was a former member of Mahoning United Methodist Church in Youngstown. Donna was a 50 year member of St. George Croatian Lodge #66.

She enjoyed playing cards, and for over 40 years, was a member of a monthly card club. Donna enjoyed taking long walks, helping people, working, and spending time with her family and friends. Donna is survived by her step-mother Vivian Lipscomb of Lake Worth, Florida, her step-father, Jack Holquist, a daughter, Julie D. (Joseph Mills, fiancé) Burkholder; and a sister, Patty (Reynold) Nesbitt, all from Youngstown, a brother, Harold (Pattie) Lipscomb of Hubbard, two step-brother, Scott (Debbie) Lipscomb of Pompano Beach, Florida and Phillip Lipscomb of Papillion, Nebraska; a step-sister, Ellen (Randy) Wagner of Wellington, Florida and her great aunt, Ann Saunders of Youngstown and so many loving nieces and nephews and extended family.

Besides her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Larry U. Burkholder, whom she married on May 23, 1964, died, August 9, 2013, and her son, Kevin L. Burkholder in 1985. Family and friends may call on Saturday, November 10, 2018 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Thompson Filicky Funeral Home in Boardman, with services to follow. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Oasis Center and All Caring Hospice for their love, care, and support that they gave to Donna and her family during this time.
