Mary Butch, 90, passed away peacefully at home at 1pm Thursday, November 1, 2018. Mary was born in Youngstown on February 20, 1928 to Sam and Mary (Fagnano) Butch. She was a 47-year employee of St. Elizabeth Hospital and when she retired, had the distinction of being the most senior employee at the hospital.

She spent most of those years working in the New Born Unit, where her love of children made her the favorite of all the new parents she came in contact with. Mary leaves behind her twin brother, Dominic Castor and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Steve, Mike, Sam, Frank (Happy), and Vince Butch; her sisters, Frances and Katherine Butch, Carolyn Kaufman, and Viola Cornish.

Mary was a kind, sweet person, who enjoyed spending time with her family and was known by all around her as “Aunt Mary”. Family and friends will gather from 10 to 11am on Friday, November 9th in Schiavone Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held at 11am followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery.
