Donnie Richard “Popa Donnie” Watt, 69, of Crossett, died Wednesday, January 9, 2019. Mr. Watt was a native and lifelong resident of Ashley County and Crossett. He worked for Ashley, Drew and Northern Railroad for almost 30 years, and he was a former Ashley County Deputy Sherrif.

Mr. Watt was a Mason, a member of the Crossett Masonic Lodge #32 and a member of the Cloverdale Assembly of God Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. “Popa Donnie” loved his children and grandchildren and was a father to anyone that needed one.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Gay LaFran “Mama Gay” White Watt in 2012; his parents, John E. “Snort” and Nora Pauline Bardin Watt; a brother, Johnny Watt in 2013 and a sister-in-law, Easter “Dee Dee” Watt. He is survived by his children, Richard E. Watt and wife, Sheila, of Crossett, Donnie M. Watt and wife, Kimberly, of West Monroe, Louisiana, Randall B. Watt and Keela K. Watt Miller and husband, Jimmy Ray, all of Crossett; his brother, Eddie Mack Watt of Crossett; 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services are 2 p.m., Thursday, January 10, 2019, at the Cloverdale Assembly of God Church with Bro.

Wes Miller and Bro. Kenneth Neal officiating. Burial will be in the Carlock Cemetery with full Masonic honors.

Pallbearers are his grandsons, Jake Watt, Jonathan Mundwiller, Joey Don Watt, Brian Olsen “Watt”, Jason Barnett, Jeremy Barnett, Aaron Watt, and John Randall Watt. Honorary pallbearers are Gaven Watt and Ray Ray Miller. Memorials may be made to the Cloverdale Assembly of God Church, 132 Ashley Road 15, Crossett, AR 71635.

Visitation will be 1-2 p.m., Thursday at the church.
