Donny’s Obituary Funeral services for Donny Lee Bateman, 74, of Kemp, formerly of Wills Point, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2019, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point. He passed away late Thursday night, January 10, 2019, at the Veterans Hospital in Dallas. Donny was born on November 14, 1944, in Edgewood, the son of Austin Bateman and Leamor Tidwell Bateman.

He was raised in Edgewood, where he attended Edgewood High School. Donny was a veteran of the United States Army. He was married to Sharon Stewart for four years and later was married for forty-four years to Donna Butler.

After Donna passed in 2013, he reunited with his first love, Sharon Evans. Donny was owner/operator of W-B Roofing for forty-four years, retiring in 2001 and was employed by the City of Muenster for ten years. He lived in Muenster prior to moving to Kemp five years ago.

He enjoyed playing the guitar, hunting, fishing, gambling, watching westerns and going to horse races. Donny was of the Church of Christ faith. Preceded in death by his parents, Austin & Leamor Bateman; wife, Donna Bateman and a son, Matthew Bateman; brother, Anthony Bateman and a sister, Wynell Mitchell.

Donny is survived by his wife, Sharon Stewart Evans, of Kemp; son, Vince Bateman & wife, Michelle, of Canton; daughter, Melinda Roden & husband, D.J., of Edgewood; brother, Herman Bateman; sister, Ruby Clower, of Grand Saline; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and two sisters-in-law, Pat Bateman, of Edgewood and Darlene Morrison, of Wills Point. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday one hour prior to service.
