Doreen M. Benton, 86, of Keyport, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, March 1, 2019 at Care One in Holmdel. She was born Doreen M. DePalma on May 10, 1932 in Manhattan, New York. She grew up in both Manhattan and the Bronx and later in life, raised her family in the Bronx before settling in Clifton, New Jersey.

About 2 years ago, Doreen relocated to Keyport, New Jersey. Before retirement, she worked as a retail sales associate for many years. She was predeceased by his parents, Bruce and Anne (Monahan) DePalma and her son, Stephen Benton.

Doreen is survived by her loving children, Doreen Burger and her husband, Patrick, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Anne Gorgas and her husband, Charles, of Milton, Delaware, and James B. Benton and his wife, Lisa, of Keyport, New Jersey. She is also survived by her dear sister, Susan DePalma, her cherished grandchildren, Patrick Burger Jr., Sean Burger, Kevin Burger, Masha Burger, Matthew Burger, Christiana Benton, Sarah Sharpe, and Stephen Benton, along with her adored great grandson, Ethan Sharpe. Doreen will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.
