Doris J. Chinn also known as Doris Townes aged 84 passed away on June 8th, 2018 at her residence. Doris J. Chinn was born on April 14th, 1934 in Newcastle, Alabama to parents Eugene Parker and Octavia McKinney. Doris graduated from Newcastle High School.

She moved to New York City at age 19 and accepted a position as a seamstress then at Willowbrook State School where she worked for 15years as a support worker. Doris was a great family woman and loving mother. She married Edward Townes in 1959 and the couple had 2 children together.

She later married Collie Chinn. Doris was an active woman who was deeply involved in arts and crafts for most of her life. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with family, Her family and friends will always remember her as a loving friend who told it like it was.

Doris is survived by her son Eric Townes of Staten Island, NY and her daughter Robbin Wilson of Hampton, VA, six grandchildren and 7 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by her first husband Edward Townes and her second husband Collie Chinn.
