Doris Jean Bridson August 20, 1958 – February 27, 2019 Share this obituary View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Today, our family says goodbye to a cherished family member, Doris Jean Bridson (Dori). Dori was funny, quirky and loving. She made friends easily and often.

She let her humor shine through in every situation. Dori was also strong willed and determined. She overcame many obstacles faced from her Type I Diabetes including loss of sight, a kidney transplant and a limb amputation.

Dori met her long-time partner, Bruce Tufford at the Kalamazoo School for the Blind. They shared many years together in Royal Oak with their beloved leader dogs. Dori is survived by her son, Rob Bridson, her brother John (Sandra) McClure, her sister, Barbara (Bradley) Fitch and many nieces and nephews.

Dori was preceded in death by her parents Glenn and Cleo McClure, her long time partner, Bruce Tufford and her sister, Kathleen Bolland. The family thanks her niece, Beth (Liz) Fitch and cherished friend Ginny for all they contributed to Dori’s well being. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The First United Methodist Church in Royal Oak, Michigan or think of Dori as you perform a random act of kindness.

Celebration of life to be held at First United Methodist Church in Royal Oak on Monday, March 4, 2019 beginning at 10 am with service at 11 am.
