Meaghan “Meg” Michele Battle, age 49, died on May 10, 2019 at her home in Berkley, Michigan. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 1, 1969, the daughter of the late Michele “Mickey” and Martin “Marty” Battle. Meg graduated from Adrian College with a Bachelor of Arts and then from the University of Michigan with a master’s degree in library science.

She valued and enjoyed her work as head of Youth Service at the Troy Public Library. She was always an advocate for equal and open access to res for ALL her constituents and colleagues. She was an influential professional in her field and left a mark that will be remembered.

She is survived by her siblings Anthony “Tony” Battle, Sharon Disney, Dennis Haggerty, Linda Haggerty, Margaret Haggerty, Jim Haggerty, Joanne Figot, and Steven Haggerty. Also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Having lost her parents early-on in life, she was blessed to be welcomed by Kay and Neil Haggerty into an equally amazing family who cared for her deeply.

As an adult, she was fiercely proud of her nieces and nephews, and saw the goodness and potential in all. Meg was a kind and gentle soul, and will be missed tremendously. She brought light and love to everything she touched, and her special way of connecting with everyone around her will be sorely missed.

Most importantly, Meg was a loyal and loving family member and friend. Please hold her in your hearts as her pain is relieved and she joins her family in heaven. She will be sorely missed.

A memorial gathering will be held on June 30th, times pending, at the Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Home in Royal Oak as a celebration of her life. Please share a memory on the Tribute Wall at www.
