Obituary for Dorothea M. Dean NILES – Dorothea M. Dean, 96, passed away peacefully at 9:27 p.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home, Niles where she lived for the past 15 months. Dorothea was born in Niles on July 28, 1922 the daughter of Harry E. and Sadie G. (Hannold) Dean Sr. and resided in Niles her entire life. She was a 1940 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and was a member of the Niles First United Methodist Church since April 21, 1935.

Dorothea was a clerk for fifty years at Warren Hardware Company and retired in 1991. She previously worked at Warren Telephone and the S.S. Kresge Company. She took pride in the care of her home and yard, was an avid bowler and golfer and played softball in her younger years.

Dorothea is survived by several nieces and nephews, Anna Mae (Norman) Hunt of N. Jackson, DeEtta (William) Miller of Austintown, Suzanne Harklerode and Bill Potoscia of Mineral Ridge, William (Christina) Dean Jr. of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Donald (Janet) Hood of Mineral Ridge, Sandy (David) Coy of Hillsboro, Ohio, several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, William N. Dean Sr., Harry E. Dean Jr. and two sisters, Marie L. Hood, Infant Sarah Dean. The funeral will be Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holeton – Yuhasz Funeral Home where family and friends may call one hour prior to the service with Rev.

Paula Marbury officiating. Burial will be in Pineview Memorial Park. Her family would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff at Shepherd of the Valley and Harbor Light Hospice for the comfort given to Dorothea these past months.
