GILCHRIST, Dorothy E. (McGowan), 58, of Sidney Street, West Warwick, passed away Monday morning, April 30, 2018 at Kent Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved companion of Antonio Pimentel. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Charles M. McGowan, Sr. and Edith M. (Quinlan) McGowan.

Dorothy was a Certified Nursing Assistant at Coventry Health Center. Her most memorable time spent was with her grandchildren and she loved animals. Dorothy loved her residence at Coventry Health Center.

Besides her companion, she leaves a daughter, Lisa C. Gilchrist of West Warwick; a son, Steven G. Gilchrist of West Warwick; a brother, Charles “Chucky” McGowan, Jr., of Coventry; three sisters, Rita Chabot of West Warwick, Maureen Hawkins of West Warwick and Edith Wright of Coventry and four grandchildren, Shyann Gaulien, Shealee Gaulien, Jesse Gaulien, Jr. and Julian Hammond. She was the sister of the late Carl E. McGowan and Marion Rougier and grandmother of the late Mia Gilchrist. Visitation and funeral will be held Friday, May 4, 2018 from 8:30-10:30 am in the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence St. West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christina Burial at 11:00 am in St. Anthony Church, Sunset Avenue, West Warwick.
