NICHOLS, Gerald R. “Gerry”, 79, of Coventry, passed away Friday evening, June 1, 2018 at Coventry Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of the late Norma J. (Montigny) Nichols. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Raymond A. and Yvette F. (Desmarais) Nichols.

Gerry was employed at Handy & Harman Electronic Materials Corp. for many years before retiring in 2003. He was a Vietnam War Marine Corps Veteran, an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed fishing and playing video games.

He is survived by his three children, Bruce E. Nichols of Coventry, Todd M. Nichols and his wife Suzanne of Coventry and Shana L. Nichols Clark and her husband Chris of Warwick and two grandsons, Cody and Benjamin. He was the brother of the late Patricia Davidson and Edward Nichols. His funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at a time to be announced in the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence St., West Warwick.

Interment will follow with military honors in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Tuesday 5:00-7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions to Beacon Hospice, One Catamore Blvd.
