MURPHY, Joseph L., III, 53, of Douglas Avenue, North Providence, passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Golden Crest Nursing Center, North Providence. Born in Providence, he was a son of Marjorie T. (Mullooly) Murphy of North Providence and the late Joseph L. Murphy, Jr He was a resident of North Providence for most of his life.

Joe was employed at Pepsi Cola Bottling Company in Cranston for many years. He was an avid sports fan especially Providence College Basketball. Besides his mother he leaves two brothers, Martin J. Murphy and his wife Susan of Narragansett and Christopher B. Murphy of North Providence; a niece, Emma Murphy and many relatives and friends who loved him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 10:00 am in St. Edward Church, 997 Branch Ave. , Providence. Interment will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.

Visiting hours Friday 4:00-7:00 pm in the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick. In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Edward Parish Food and Wellness Center, 1001 Branch Ave. , Providence, RI 02904 in his memory would be appreciated.
