AVELLA, John J., 63, of Main Street, West Warwick, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Kent Hospital. Born in Providence, he was the son of Mary (Tetreault) Avella of Jacksonville, Florida and the late Alfred Avella. He resided in Warwick and West Warwick for many years.

John was employed at Regal Plating and was also a self-employed electrician and handyman for many years. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 2 West Warwick, loved playing the guitar and enjoyed golfing and fishing. Besides his mother he is survived by a daughter, Jillian Avella and her husband Joseph Pearl, six siblings, Diane Soares of Wallingford, CT, David Avella of Old Hickory, TN, Joseph Avella of Lebanon, TN, Linda Avella of Meriden, CT, Carol Avella of Orange Park, FL and Michael Avella of Jacksonville, FL and many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Alfred Avella, Jr. His funeral will held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions to VNA Care New England Hospice, 51 Health Lane, Warwick, RI 02886 in his memory would be appreciated.
