Dorothy E. (Waschak) Geidner, 93 Youngstown – There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Luke Church, Boardman with Father Zachary Coulter officiating, for Dorothy E. (Waschak) Geidner, 93, of Youngstown, who peacefully passed away early Saturday morning, December 29, 2018 Dorothy will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends for her generosity and kindness. She was born January 3, 1926 in Youngstown, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Repko) Waschak and was a lifelong area resident. Dorothy was a graduate of South High School and an active member of St. Luke Church where she belonged to the Happy Hearts.

Besides being a proud homemaker, Dorothy was also employed for over 21 years at Gorant Candies as a supervisor retiring in 1990. She was a true matriarch and always emphasized the importance of family where she led by example. Dorothy enjoyed cooking and baking for family dinners and her family will especially miss her famous sticky buns.

Her husband Frank C. Geidner Sr. whom she married May 8, 1946 died September 1, 2000. She leaves behind to hold onto her precious memories a son Frank C. Jr. (Cheryl) Geidner of Austintown, two daughters Janet (Tom) Crnarich of Struthers and Margaret “Peggy” Carkido of Warren, twelve grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, a daughter-in-law Kim Geidner of Austintown, a son-in-law Ralph Borer of North lima and a brother Ed (Cathy) Waschak of North Carolina along with many nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by a son James “Jim” T. Geidner, a daughter Karen Borer, three brothers John, Bob and Joe Waschak and two sisters Helen Schied and Kay Robison.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:20 a.m. at St. Luke Church, 5235 South Ave. , Boardman. Burial will take place at Green Haven Memorial Gardens, Canfield.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Thompson Filicky Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman.
