Obituary for Dorothy Hulsey Dorothy Hulsey, 69, of Raytown Missouri died peacefully at her home on August 28th, 2018, surrounded by her family. Dorothy is the daughter of Bertha and Percy Farrar. Dorothy was born, the youngest of 7 children, on November 18, 1948, in Cape Girardeau, MO.

Her fondest childhood memories were playing with her sister Margie, cooking with her mom and delivering eggs with her daddy. Dorothy was a 1967 graduate of Notre Dame High School in Cape Girardeau, MO. Dorothy married Bob Hulsey, the love of her life in Holy Matrimony on April 19, 1975.

They had 2 children, Gabriel Hulsey (Jefferson City, MO) and Elizabeth (Hulsey) Forlow (Blue Springs, MO). Dorothy retired from the State of Missouri Department of Youth Services in Jefferson City, MO. Never one to stay idle, she did seasonal work for the IRS in Kansas City, MO until her death.

She cherished the friendships she made at both the State of Missouri and the IRS. Dorothy’s absolute favorite job was being a wife and a mother. She leaves her husband, Bob, her son Gabe and his wife Becky along with their daughters Emma, Riley and Addison, her daughter Elizabeth (Betsy) and her husband Kenny and their children Jacob and Kyle.

She also leaves behind her Nephew Gary Stone, his wife Melissa and their children Mariah and Ben, her sisters Geraldine Stone and Margaret Farrar and numerous other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her granddaughter Hope Luebbering Hulsey, her brothers Paul Farrar, Glenn Farrar, Eugene “Gene” Farrar and Arthur Farrar. Dorothy’s family would like to thank Dr. Aimee Kohn and Dr. Susan Herzberg and the entire St. Luke’s East Cancer Team for the kindness and care they extended to Dorothy and her family throughout her cancer treatment.

They would also like to thank Great Lake’s Caring Hospice for the care they provided Dorothy while she was on hospice. Friends may call Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 1-2 pm at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home.

A prayer service will be held at 2 pm at the funeral home with the Rev. Allan Saunders officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
